Commencement and completion of two development projects worth 96.7 million Afghanis in Kunar

The construction process of 2.14 km boulder wall project, worth 37 million Afghanis has been completed in Nurgul district of Kunar province the Regional Programs Coordination Office of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development MRRD, and construction of another 1.868 km wall at a cost of 59.7 million Afghanis has been started.

With the implementation of the completed project, 200 of hectares of the agricultural lands has been rehabilitated and the new project will rehabilitate another 600 hectares.

It is worth mentioning that houses and agricultural lands around the Kunar River are severely damaged every year during the watershed season, and people have suffered financial and human losses in this regard.

But now, by construction of retaining walls across the river the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development is working to manage the country's waters, rehabilitate the barren lands of these areas and increase the level of agricultural production and economic growth of the people of Kuner province.
