The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has commenced the construction of QADIS storage Dam in Badghis province
The Acting Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and development Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada along with delegation inaugurated the storage dam project in Qadis district of Badghis province, and its work has actually started.
In this delegation Maulavi Bakht Munir Muhammad head of water supply and sanitation, The intelligence chief of Badghis province Maulavi Muhammad Essa, Director of rural rehabilitation and development of Badghis Maulavi Ruzi Muhammd Mansour, Director of rural rehabilitation and development of Helmand province Mullah Muhammod Sani, the commander’s representatives , The scholars and intellectuals also participated in the inauguration.
Qadis reservoir dam is a vital and crucial project that have the main role in controlling the water of Qadis river, preventing floods and strengthening the water resources of Qadis.
The water capacity of this dam is 1.82 million cubic meter and it will at a height of 32 meter.
This project will implement on budget of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and development at a cost of 12,500,000 US dollars by the Department of water supply and sanitation.
With the construction of this dam, 1400 hectares of land will be irrigate and provide employment opportunities in the field of agriculture for 60,000 residents in the area.
