The Honorable Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development met with the Ambassador of China and his accompanying delegation.
Honorable Alhaj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, met today in his office with Mr. Zhao Xing, the Ambassador of China to Afghanistan, along with his delegation.
During this meeting, Mr. Zhao Xing expressed his pleasure over the completion of the Wakhan Corridor road project in Badakhshan province. He provided the Honorable Minister with information about ongoing activities and continued cooperation from China for Afghanistan, adding: "We have implemented large-scale development and infrastructure projects in Afghanistan with good quality, and in the future, we will carry out projects in full coordination with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan."
Subsequently, Honorable Alhaj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, while welcoming the Chinese Ambassador and his delegation, expressed gratitude for China's assistance and said:
"Although Afghanistan is connected to neighboring countries by land and engages in various forms of trade, China was the only country that was not previously connected to Afghanistan by land. Fortunately, with the completion of the Wakhan Corridor road, China has now been connected to the country, and the remaining construction work is progressing intensively."
The Minister further added during his remarks that our people are very happy with the connection of the Wakhan road. He urged: "You must increase your cooperation with us in implementing development and infrastructure projects, because our people have endured many difficulties over the past years. You should implement more projects in the underprivileged areas of the country where the need is felt, in order to address the people's problems."
At the end of the meeting, both sides emphasized continued cooperation and coordination with each other.
