Clean drinking water provided for 231 families in Nangarhar province

A solar-powered water supply network has been recently constructed and handed over by The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program (Ru-WatSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) in “Khoga Khel” village in Achin district of Nangarhar province.
The total cost of this project was 2,974,000 AFN which was funded through the State budget, and with the completion of the project, around 231 families gained access to clean drinking water. The project included setting up of a 2,400-meter long pipes network, construction of one elevated water reservoir and a protection fence for solar panels, and installation of 20 solar panels, in house taps, and other essential parts. The construction affairs of this project created as many as 1,900 working days.
