A water check dam was handed over and put into use in Herat province by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development
The construction of a small water Check dam in the village of Abgarmak, zawal district, Herat province, worth more than (5.4) million Afghanis, was completed today through the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, and the project was inaugurated in a ceremony by Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada, the Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, and his accompanying delegation.
In the inaugural ceremony of this project, Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada the Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Maulvi Abdul Salam Hijrat the Director of department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Herat province, Engineer Asadullah Amar the Director of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation of the Ministry, Mullah Ewaz Munib the District Governor of Zawal, a number of other officials, Scholars, and youth participated.
This Check dam is (77) meters long and (6.8) meters high, and has the capacity to store (18,000) cubic meters of water.
During the construction of this Check dam, job opportunities were provided for dozens of workers, and upon its completion, the rainwater will be controlled, and the groundwater level will be raised and maintained.
