A solar-powered water supply network handed over in Takhar province

With the total cost of of 5,665,792 AFN, funded by USAID/UNICEF, a solar-powered water supply network has been recently completed and handed over in Taloqan, the provincial capital of Takhar province.
The project, which was implemented in two phases, included the digging of one 100-meter deep well, construction of one elevated water reservoir and protection wall and installation of solar panels, 259 taps, and other essential tools. With the completion of this project, around 370 families got access to clean drinking water. The project was executed through the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program (Ru-WatSP) of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.
