Construction of 42 Safe Drinking Water Networks Begins in Paktika Province

The construction of 42 safe drinking water networks in the districts of Gomal, Wazikhwa, Dila, Khushamand, Janikhel, Char Baran, and Shakin of Paktika Province has officially begun today. The project, costing more than 201 million Afghanis, is being implemented through the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development and was inaugurated in a ceremony by Hajji Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada, the Minister of the said ministry.

The ceremony was attended by Hajji Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, his accompanying delegation, Hajji Mawlawi Abdul Khaliq Abid, Governor of Paktika, Mawlawi Ihsanullah Ahmad, Head of Rural Rehabilitation and Development for the province, along with several other officials, respected scholars, elders, and youth.

With the commencement of these projects, job opportunities will be created for hundreds of workers, and after completion, approximately 56,000 people will gain access to safe drinking water.
