Honorable Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development visits the progress of the Qadis District Major Water Reservoir Project in Badghis Province
Honorable Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Younus Akhundzada, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, along with his accompanying delegation, visited the progress of the vital Major Water Reservoir Project in Qadis District of Badghis Province.
The Qadis Reservoir is located 70 kilometers from Qala-e-Naw city and plays an important role in controlling the flow of the Qadis River and preventing floods.
The reservoir has a storage capacity of 3 million cubic meters, with a height of 32 meters, and is being constructed at a cost of 12.5 million US dollars from the ministry’s development budget.
The Qadis Major Water Reservoir, which is over 60% complete, is a vital and public-benefit project that has a significant impact on the lives of the residents of Qadis District. With the construction of this reservoir, local agriculture and livestock will develop, and the people’s economic conditions will improve.
Upon completion of this major reservoir, 1,400 hectares of agricultural land will be irrigated, providing job opportunities for local residents in the agricultural sector.
