Structural Engineer - (Re announced)

About Ru-WatSIP/MRRD:

Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Irrigation Programme (Ru-WatSIP) is working in the structure of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development MRRD as one of the national program. The main responsibility of this Program is provision of safe potable water and sanitation facilities as a basic need for allover rural inhabitants in the country.

In this programme donors such as UNICEF, MoF and SAARC are providing financial assistance to MRRD for capacity building and implementation of water supply projects.

Recently Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development/ Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Irrigation Programme, through MOF funding launched National large scale project as construction of Qadis Khordak Water storage Dam for the purpose of water resources management, flood control, land irrigation and environment protection in Qadis district of Badghis province. The implementation will be carried out by construction company (CC) where the daily supervision and regular monitoring is being done by Ru-WatSIP/RRD technical Team

To ensure that the projects are implemented with quality and planed objectives as per the project document, there is need for hiring a Structural Engineer

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees every activity being executed in the construction site for efficiency and effectiveness of the work.

Execution of work based on a given plan, drawings and specification.
Oversees the contractor to work based on a given plan, drawings and specification.
Check and oversees the Quantities and cost estimation of projects.
Checking and comprehensively understanding of the civil designs.
Doing of Civil design of projects.
Checking and comprehensively understanding of the feasibility study reports of the project.
Checking and comprehensively understanding of the detailed design Civil Parts.
Checking and comprehensively understanding of the technical specification of the project (structural)
Checking and comprehensively understanding of the design packages (civil part).
Checking and comprehensively understanding of the Civil design drawings and calculation of the water intake structures, headrace channel, fore bay, , and tailrace canal.
Checking and comprehensively understanding of the hydraulic and structural calculation of canals, tunnels, siphons, aqueducts, supper passages and retaining walls.
 Checking and comprehensively understanding of the design packages of Roads, culverts and bridges.
Design of the above-mentioned structures.
Preparation of the monthly activity reports.
Any other task assigned by the related supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills according to (NTA):

The candidate shall have at least BSc- Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the related field.
Familiar with USBR, ASTM, ACI, AASHTO and USACE international Codes.
Fully expert in Software of Civil 3D, and Auto CAD.
Facilitation, consulting, and/or training skills highly desirable; and
Computer skills, including extensive experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. 

Internet and e-mail skills required. 

Reporting line:

The Structural Engineer will report to Project Manager
