Quality Control Engineer

About Ru-WatSIP/MRRD:

Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and IrrigationProgramme (Ru-WatSIP) is working in the structure of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development MRRD as one of the national program. The main responsibility of this Program is provision of safe potable water and sanitation facilities as a basic need for allover rural inhabitants in the country.

In this programme donors such as UNICEF, MoF and SAARC are providing financial assistance to MRRD for capacity building and implementation of water supply projects.

Recently Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development/ Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Irrigation Programme, through MOF funding launched joint National large scale projects on Drinking Water Supply and irrigationin Badghis province. The implementation will be carried out by construction company (CC) where the daily supervision and regular monitoring is being done by Ru-WatSIP/RRD technical Team.

To ensure that the projects are implemented with quality and planed objectives as per the project document, there is need for hiring a Quality control Engineer

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide direct service to site engineers in inspection quality applications, tools techniques and systems.
Participate and support inspection quality improvement processes based on a range of tools and techniques.
 Ability to generate and improve upon inspection instructions and concise inspection reports.
Flexibility to regulate work in different environments across the site.
Project monitoring/evaluation and report writing.
Ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the project.
Determine project seasonal duration for project implementation.
Having an appropriate work plan for his activities.
Knowledge of international standard (ACI Code, ASTM etc) construction materials.
Laboratory equipment’s and testing.
 Daily report submits to main office
provide construction facilities with inspection and quality control services and support to
Improve inspection quality systems, construction processes and construction quality.
He will manage the company€™s quality system by ensuring that appropriate procedures are in place and being followed consistently and are in compliance with the relevant standard.
The QC Engineer would be on the site and be familiar with the Corps of Engineers, US ARMY force and Taskforce Phoenix, Standards for quality control system.
Preparing Project Submittals
Checking quality of construction materials for the vertical and Utilities infrastructures for FOX Project.
Preparing technical assistance for field staff on daily basis.
Ensure all the activities in the site are going on as per drawings, to prevent activities against scope of work. 
Ensure all the layouts and lines of buildings are as per drawings. 
Review the designs in terms of quality control, grades of concrete and other usable materials. 
Collect the samples for testing and insure the proper testing as per specifications with the help of other site QC Engineer. 
Report any inconsistency or problem on the site to the site office. 
Make sure the smooth work achievements as per drawings. 
Make sure the drawings used on the site are up to date drawings and are approved. 
Collecting data from the field for compilation of report.
Inspect and supervise the Quality of any type of construction materials. 
Maintain all the documents and submittal for insuring the proper documentation. 
Check and control each and every activity to ensure the quality of work.
Perform any other related duties assigned by Project Manager. 

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills according to (NTA):

Bachelor degree in Quality Control/Monitoring Engineer or Civil Engineering, master degree is highly preferred. 
Minimum of 5 years’ similar experience in construction projects Quality control issues.
Professional MS Office and AutoCAD, SAP, ANSYS user and familiar all types tests on construction materials
Outstanding interpersonal and team management skills;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Working knowledge of Native language

Reporting line:

The Q/C Engineer will report to Project Manager
