The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has shared its activities and achievements with the media.
The Acting Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, presented the activities and achievements of the Ministry to the media at the press conference held at the Information and Media Center earlier today.
The press conference was attended by Alhaj Maulvi Abdul Rahman Halim, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration, and Mufti Syed Ahmed Mustaqeem, the Deputy Minister of Rural Development, along with journalists.
At the beginning of the press conference, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada delivered a speech in which he stated that despite the lack of financial resources, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development had implemented projects in the country such as providing clean water to villagers in remote areas of the country, constructing check dams, bridges, culverts, rural roads, and retaining walls.
Following that, Maulvi Mirza Muhammad Shakib, the head of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development's office, provided information about the Ministry's recent activities and achievements. He stated that the repair and reconstruction of the road from Brughil to Buzhai Gonbad in Wakhan District of Badakhshan Province,road from Buzhai Gonbad to the border of China, a reservoir dam is being constructed in Qads District of Badghis Province, and a clean water supply network in the center of Qala-E-Naw. Furthermore, a retaining wall is being built in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province. Moreover, construction of check dams, for storing rainwater, has commenced in (142) districts of (13) provinces in the country.
Mr. Shakib further added during his speech that, based on the extraordinary decree of the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, a large water dam worth about two billion afghanis is being constructed in Khashrud district of Nimroz province.
