A check dam was handed over and put into use in Paktia province
The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has completed the construction of a check dam in Zurmat District of Paktia Province at a cost of 4.9 million Afghanis. Today, in a series of ceremonies, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada and his mil delegation, elder scholars and youths were handed over the dam for use.
The Honorable Minister delivered a speech to the participants of the meeting and stated, "I assure the people of Zurmat District that all the projects and small dams implemented by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development consider with the highest standards and quality and are supervised by professional engineers of the country."
The dam is constructed with a length of 85 meters, a height of 6.5 meters, and has a storage capacity of 15,000 cubic meters of water. During the construction of the dam, hundreds of laborers were employed.
Upon completion, the dam will harvest rainwater and help maintain a high groundwater level.
