The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development started the construction work of the retaining wall in Spin Boldak District
The work of retaining wall started in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province by the acting Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzadah and delegation.
The construction of the 5200 meter long retaining wall at the cost of (75) million and (622) thousand Afghanis in Turkzai first part, Turkzai second part, Mahbob Shah and Gulan villages started today during a meeting.
The meeting was attended by Haji Bashir, the district governor of Spin Boldak district,
Haji Abdul Jabbar Hikmat, head of the Ruralruralrehabilitation and development of Kandahar province, and the scholars of the area.
During the meeting, the Honorable Minister gave his speech and stated, "In addition to the Qosh Tapi project, over 50 other major projects have been initiated in the country."
The retaining wall will divert the river of this district and protect hundreds hectares of land from seasonal rains and floods.
It is worth mentioning that last year the lands of this district were damaged due to floods and the river overflowed its path, blocking the Spin Boldak and Kandahar highway for three days.
By constructing the retaining wall, the river will be protected and the highway will be protected from water damage.
