Expansion Work on Water Supply Projects for Returnees in Nangarhar Province Begins
In a ceremony led by the Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Younus Akhundzada, the expansion work on water supply projects for returning refugees in Nangarhar province has begun. The work, with an approximate cost of one million US dollars, involves the construction of nine clean drinking water supply networks in the new camps of the Khogyani, Rodat, and Pachir Agam districts, and the rehabilitation of twenty water supply networks and fifty wells in the Surkhrod and Bihsud districts.
The ceremony was attended by the Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the Deputy Minister, the Governor of Nangarhar Province Alhaj Mullah Gul Mohammad Akhund, the Director of Public Health for the province, Mawlawi Aminullah Sharif, the Director of Rural Rehabilitation and Development for the province, Mawlawi Qismatullah Mubariz, as well as a number of other provincial officials, religious scholars, elders, and youth.
During the ceremony, the Honorable Minister gave a valuable speech, stating: "It is our commitment that, according to our capabilities, we will provide access to clean drinking water for all those who have returned to the country and are facing a lack of clean water."
During the implementation of these projects, work opportunities will be provided for hundreds of laborers. Upon completion, thousands of returnees in the mentioned camps will gain access to clean drinking water.
