Meeting between the Honorable Minister of Rehabilitation and Rural Development and the UNICEF Representative
Today, Alhaj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, the Minister of Rehabilitation and Rural Development, met with Dr. Tajudeen Oyewale, the Representative of the UNICEF Office in Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation at his office.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Tajudeen, the UNICEF Representative, provided information to the Honorable Minister about the office's projects and activities. He stated: "I am very pleased that we have implemented projects in coordination with your Ministry, based on the needs of the people in the country's remote areas. Recently, we have given increased attention to earthquake victims and returnees. We are also striving to implement more projects in the water supply sector."
He further added that unfortunately, in Afghanistan, returnees have suffered casualties as a result of aggression from Pakistan, and the leadership of the UNICEF office condemns this action by Pakistan.
Subsequently, Alhaj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, the Minister of Rehabilitation and Rural Development, welcomed the UNICEF Representative, Mr. Tajudeen, and his accompanying delegation. He said: "I am grateful for your cooperation. You have done and continue to do a great deal of work in the country. Endeavor to ensure that projects are completed with good quality and within the specified time frame so that the people can benefit from them properly."
The Honorable Minister added: "For those returnees who have been displaced from camps, you must cooperate with them in the water supply sector and other sectors."
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the expansion of further coordination.
