The Construction of a Water Supply Network Has Been Launched at the Umari Camp in the Torkham Area of Nangarhar Province

The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has initiated the construction of a water supply network at the Umari Camp in the Torkham area of Nangarhar Province, with an estimated cost of approximately 11 million Afghanis. The project was officially launched today during a series of ceremonies led by the Honorable Minister, Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Younus Akhundzada, along with his accompanying delegation.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Honorable Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Younus Akhundzada, his delegation, Mawlawi Qismatullah Mubarez, Head of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Nangarhar Province, Mohammad Hashim Maiwandwal, Director of Umari Camp, and several members of the Refugee Committee.

The project includes drilling a 100-meter-deep well, constructing two clean water reservoirs with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters each, laying 4,000 meters of pipelines, and installing 28 solar panels along with 26 water taps.

During the execution of this project, dozens of workers will be employed, and upon its completion, approximately 100,000 refugees residing in the camp will gain access to clean drinking water.
