9 Check dams are being built in Badghis province by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development

Nine check dams are being constructed in nine districts of Badghis province at a cost of more than 32 million Afghanis.

Construction of four check dams began today during a series of ceremonies led by the Acting Director of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundazada, and delegation.

In this meeting, the Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, the deputy governor of the province, Haji Maulavi Ghulam Muhammad Sahib, the head of intelligence, Maulavi Muhammad Essa Siraj, the provincial police chief, Qari Rozi Mohammad Mansour, and the head of rural rehabilitation and development of Badghis province, along with local scholars and young people, participated.

The construction of these check dams will provide employment to hundreds of laborers in the region. These check dams will help retain rainwater in the districts and maintain the underground water level.
