Call for Applications for Participation Improved Cook Stove (ICS) Fabrication Training
The UNDP’s Afghanistan Sustainable Energy for Rural Development Programme (ASERD) together with the GEF-Small Grant Program (SGP) call for applications from the eligible Afghan candidates for the participation in a 5-days training workshop about the ‘Fabrication of Improved Cook Stoves’. This training is expected to increase the quality and efficiency of the local production at lower price and reach wider end-user, hence leading to environmental, social, health and economic benefits. The training is designed to have two phases.
Phase I: Phase I: Theoretical training about the manufacturing steps of an ICS- 2 days
Phase II: Fabrication and testing of the ICS in a fabrication workshop- 3 days
Eligibility of candidates
- Graduated from school or technical institute
- At least 2 years of work experience in mechanical fabrication. Prior experience in fabrication of cook-stove is preferable.
- Currently working in a fabrication workshop. Candidates shall provide a letter of introduction from the manager/owner of the workshop.
Time: 30 March,2019 till 03 April 2019.
Participants from outside Kabul shall organize their own transportation and accommodation arrangements. Refreshments and lunch will be provided during the training.
Training Language: Dari
A team of International consultants will design and conduct the training with an interpreter
Follow-up Activity: ASERD will support trained local ICS fabricator to promote and sell their products.
