A solar-powered water supply network was put into use in Herat province by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development

The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, with the financial support of the Ministry and the UNICEF office, completed the construction of a solar-powered water supply network at a cost of more than 32 million Afghanis in Kumana village of Khasan district, Herat province and Today, during a meeting, from the Acting Minister of the Ministry, Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, and an accompanying delegation were handed over this network for use.

In this meeting, the Acting Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, the Governor of Herat Province Noor Ahmad Islam Jar, an accompanying delegation, the Head of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of the said province Maulvi Abdul Salam Hijrat, and a number of other officials and scholars participated.

The network includes the connection of 92 solar panels, the construction of two reservoirs of clean water with the capacities of 128 and 20 cubic meters, the connection of 270 taps, and the extension of a pipe with a length of 32 kilometers.

During the work on this network, dozens of workers were provided with employment, and upon completion, 1,126 families of this village gained access to clean drinking water.
