Over 28,183 Community Development Councils (CDCs) have been established throughout all 34 provinces.
More than 27,747 CDCs have formulated Community Development Plans which define the project(s) the communities have chosen to implement.
More than 59,841 NSP project proposals have been approved since its inception.
Over 47,290 community projects have been completed and now improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of Afghans. The top five community needs are water supply and sanitation, transport, irrigation, power and education.
As of 16th December 2011 a total of US$ 945,875,434 million of block grants has been committed,ofwhich US$ 906,582,727 million has been disbursed to 27,157 communities for their projects.
