Over 600 families got access to clean drinking water in Helmand

With the total cost of 2,957,909 Afghani, funded by UNICEF, as many as 28 drinking water bore wells have been recently accomplished in different villages of Nahri Saraj district of southern Helmand province.

The project of constructing these hand-pumps equipped wells were executed by Nahri Saraj District Development Assembly (DDA) through the national Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Irrigation Programme (Ru_WatSIP) of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD).

With the completion of these wells, some 670 families, who did not have access to clean water in the past, were provided with clean drinking water.
