Agreement of Two Bridges Signed in Nuristan

H.E Jarullah Mansoori Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development during a two-day trip to Nuristan province signed contract of two development projects at a cost of AFN 16 million with local construction companies and visited other uplift projects. The said projects include two 30 meters and 10 meters bridges which will construct basically through Regional Coordination Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Nurgaram district of Nuristan province.

Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development while accompanied through Governor and MPs of Nuristan province went to the villages of Paroon, met with vulnerable rural residents. He paid attention to their suggestions and tasked the relevant authorities to solve their problems.

He visited the Ashtavi village hydro-power project, appreciated the 50% community contribution and patriotic sense of the people in this project, in order to complete the project he promised to pay another AFN five million to the representatives of 500 families.  Ashtavi village project is among the development projects of NSP/MRRD, more than AFN seven million of its cost was paid by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD).

In addition to unpaid work, the residents have paid over 7.5 million Afghanis to the project as well, the rest cost of the project reaches to AFN five million, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development promised to pay it.

Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development met with the representatives of Community Development Councils, employees and representatives of Nuristan districts as well, explained the development objectives of the government and the facilities of his Ministry to meet their requirements.

As of yet, 673 development projects have been launched in various villages of Nuristan province through the national programs of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development at a cost of AFN 600 million of which 521 projects have been completed so far, benefiting 22 thousand rural families.
