During the signing ceremony H.E. Minister Wais Ahmad Barmak said that Women already play a vital role in Afghanistan’s rural economy and further added, “The Gender Policy is not only fully embedded and implemented across all Ministry activities and programmes, but it adds value to the work we do on a daily basis, and visibly strengthens the role and place of women in Afghan society.”

He added: “I hope that together, we can achieve better outcomes for women as a contribution to Afghanistan’s long-term economic growth, to peace, stability and prosperity.”
