In Separate ceremonies which were conducted for the inauguration of Micro Hydro-Power (MHP) projects in Safidrang, Roghanqol, Shinamiana, Geerogak, Ghaighanak and Dehmordah villages of Lal wa Sarjangal and Dowlatyar districts of Ghor province, local authorities and a large number of rural people had participated. The speakers alongside appreciating from the development programmes of the Government advertised their preparedness for the rehabilitation of their villages.
The projects have been completed at a cost of more than AFN 19 million from the budget of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD). The communities have also given a 10% contribution towards the finalization of these projects.
According to Eng. Taj Mohammad Zilal Director of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department of Ghor province the Community Development Councils (CDC’s) are able now to implement and maintain the development projects. Good security conditions in the villages of this province have paved the ground for the Engineers of this Department to monitor the completed and ongoing projects.
Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department of Ghor province like other provincial departments of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) prepared a regular plan for the implementation of development projects. With the gradual implementation of this plan the department should response to the problems and needs of the rural communities.
