MRRD Marks Mother Day

Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan celebrated 24 Jawza, the blessed mother day in a ceremony in the conference hall of this Ministry.

Initially few verses from the holy Quran were recited, then Minister Wais Ahmad Barmak, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development have spoke regard the high position of the mother and further added, “I congratulate this blessed day to all of the mothers, particularly to those who have been offered patriotic, adolescent and hero progenies for the prosperity of the people and building of the country and to those who have been trying in the sound upbringing of their children.”

Afterwards, representative of the Ministry of Women Affairs read out the message of Dr. Husn Banu Ghazanfar Minister of Women Affairs, the message says: “So far, based on ten-year plan, the offices and institutions in order to improve mother’s circumstances to strengthen families, support their welfare, legal awareness and women’s social growth have been made their efforts.”

Also Engineer Atiqullah Khawasi Admin and Finance Deputy of the MRRD, Member of Parliament Gulalai Akbari , Civil Society member Zuhra Chopan and Safia Sedeqi were spoken in this ceremony. Each of them have talked regard the high position of the mother, role of mothers in the education of children and problems of mothers in the country.

At the end of this ceremony success female staff of the MRRD were honored through the lower house and got merit certifications.
