About RU-WatSIP / MRRD:

The national Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Progarmme Ru-WatSIP is working in the structure of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development MRRD. The main responsibility of this progamme is provision of clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities as basic needs for the rural inhabitants in the country.

In this programme many donors such as USAID, UNICEF, MoF, SAARC, SPANISH and NORAD are providing financial assistance to MRRD for capacity building and implementation of water supply projects.

Among the others the government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is also providing financial support to MRRD Ru-WATSIP for implementation of Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene promotion (WASH) projects in the rural Communities alongside with assistance in capacity building within MRRD and for the sector.

The progarmme currently needs a position preferably females as Project Assistant with the assignments sated as below. 

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Under over all guidance and direct supervision of Sr. admin Officer the incumbent provides administrative support to the admin/project unit.
The Project Assistant will report directly to the Sr. Admin Officer and will be responsible but not limited to:
Effective communication and practice of Ru-WATSIP policies and Procedures;
Develop, implement and maintain efficient Administrative systems.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs and maintaining of equipment and inventories.
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning administrative projects; expediting work results.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Provide guidance and support to the administrative support staff such as Admin Clerk, messenger, Cleaners, Drivers and Guards;
Manage office procurements; order office supplies such as stationery, toners, IT equipment and ensure enough stock for daily operations.
Support the project unit for the repair and maintenance of all IT and office equipment (printers, copiers, etc) as and when required.
Support the office for the repair and maintenance of all vehicles when required
Support supervisor to conduct physical count and verification of office assets and report to Administrative Manager; to take necessary corrective actions.
Provide logistics support, when required, in relation to customs clearance.
Assist with maintaining hard copy and electronic copy filing system;
Make purchase orders and evaluate the expenditures and documents based on the rules and policies.
Perform any other duties, as may be required.

Job Requirements:

Required Education/Degrees/Skills:             

Bachelor’s degree in social science, literature and other related fields with 2 years relevant work experience or baccalaureate with 4 years’ work experience.
Related experience in admin, finance and project implementation.

Good verbal and written communication in Dari/Pashtu and fluency in English is preferred

Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills, report writing skills are required.
Good computer knowledge, knowing Windows programs (e.g. Word and Excel)

 

Reporting to:                          

The Project Assistant will report to the Snr Admin Officer.
