Fourteen public welfare projects, benefiting more than three thousand families, were inaugurated in Ghorian district of Herat province.
The schemes include the construction of retaining walls, electricity networks, digging of canals, Community Center, Public bath and water supply networks.
The projects have been completed through the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) at a cost of more than AFN 27 million and 400 thousand. The communities have also given a 10% contribution towards the finalization of these projects.
Ghorian district Governor, Nasir Ahmad Mohammadi said: “The implementation of Development projects by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) would help poverty and insecurity reduction.” He demanded monitoring during the implementation of the projects through Community Development Councils (CDC’s).
